I generally do not rank live versions of songs, but the live version of Dayton, Ohio - 19 Something and 5 on this EP almost sounds like an alternate studio take given how it was recorded. There are things to like about both the version on Tonics & Twisted Chasers and here that they can stand separately. In original post I mostly discussed the differences between the two versions, and ultimately took a pass on the other three songs on the EP...
That is still the case today. The three supporting songs on this EP are in the vein of lyrics being said/sang over some chords that seem like straight-up support. Sometimes I feel these songs or more like poems with accompanying music than true songs, and that is fine, but not the type of GBV songs that I dig. Here is the updated ranking:
Among Bob's Best
-- none
Gems
01 Dayton, Ohio - 19 Something and 5 [Live]
Almost Gems
-- none
They're Good
-- none
They're OK
-- none
Could Live Without
02 Travels
03 No Welcome Wagons
04 Selective Service
Toss-Offs & Throwaways

Given the scoring above, the album would get 8 points total (and an average of 2.00).
