I originally wrote that Nightwalker was for diehards only, and consists of odd nuggets from Robert Pollard and his music buddies. Unlike a Circus Devils release, where the oddness is a more up and front feature (and far more polished), Nightwalker comes off as more like the unfinished recordings of folks just sort of fooling around...
There isn't a whole lot to say here. Some fans see something magical in Dogwood Grains, and some see something in this album as a whole that I just don't get. I think it is bottom of the barrel when it comes to how essential it is, and even though I do own a copy, it is more for completion's sake than anything else. Here is the updated ranking:
