RE:SCORE - Nightwalker: In Shop We Build Electrical Chairs - Professional Music By Nightwalker 1984-93 (1999)

TOTAL SCORE: 9, AVG: 0.82

originally wrote that Nightwalker was for diehards only, and consists of odd nuggets from Robert Pollard and his music buddies. Unlike a Circus Devils release, where the oddness is a more up and front feature (and far more polished), Nightwalker comes off as more like the unfinished recordings of folks just sort of fooling around...

There isn't a whole lot to say here. Some fans see something magical in Dogwood Grains, and some see something in this album as a whole that I just don't get. I think it is bottom of the barrel when it comes to how essential it is, and even though I do own a copy, it is more for completion's sake than anything else. Here is the updated ranking:

    Among Bob's Best
    -- none

    Gems
    -- none

    Almost Gems
    -- none

    They're Good
    -- none

    They're OK
    04 Dogwood Grains
09 Weird Rivers & Sapphire Sun

    Could Live Without
02 The Fink Swan (Swims Away)
    03 Kenneth Ray
    05 Amazed
    07 Ceramic Cock Einstein
11 Those Little Bastards Will Bite

    Toss-Offs & Throwaways
    01 Drum Solo
    06 Signifying UFO
    08 U235
    10 Trashed Canned Goods

Given the scoring above, the album would get 9 points total (and an average of 0.82).
