RE:SCORE - Lexo and the Leapers: Ask Them (1999)

TOTAL SCORE: 26, AVG: 4.33

When I originally wrote about this album, drummer Jay Madewell corrected me when I noted that Lexo and the Leapers spun their own version of Fair Touching, noting that this is actually the original version. Though Fair Touching would eventually be a big song for GBV on Isolation Drills, it isn't in the top three of this amazing EP from Robert Pollard, Gate Bonham, Tere Lerma, and Jay Madewell...

Marked as the 2nd entry in the Fading Captain Series, Ask Them is a spectacular EP and is easily considered essential Pollard. Time Machines, Alone, Stinking and Unafraid, and Circling Motorhead Mountain are all excellent heavy tracks, and it is a shame that we never got to see a sequel for this collaboration. Here is the updated ranking:

    Among Bob's Best
    01 Time Machines
    02 Alone, Stinking and Unafraid

    Gems
    06 Circling Motorhead Mountain

    Almost Gems
    05 Fair Touching

    They're Good
04 Will You Show Me Your Gold?

    They're OK
    03 Plainskin

    Could Live Without
    -- none

    Toss-Offs & Throwaways
    -- none

Given the scoring above, the album would get 26 points total (and an average of 4.33).
